The Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) marketing department is looking for breast cancer survivors who would be interested in sharing their story with the community.

In an effort to increase awareness of breast cancer, we are looking to help women now by sharing your story, thus providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.

Breast cancer is one of the leading health crisis for women in the United States. One in five women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Early diagnosis is critical to survival. Getting a high-quality mammogram and having a clinical breast exam on a regular basis are the most effective ways to detect breast cancer early.

The National Cancer Institute recommends women ages 40 and older receive annual mammogram screenings to provide early detection of breast cancer. There are over 14,000 women in Fayette County. Of these women 51.3 percent are 40 and older.
