What’s happening at Carnegie Library?

Stop by the Carnegie Public Library between now and Sept. 9 to see the newest work from Creative Court House! Photos on display at the library are the work of students that participated in a photography workshop. The classes covered camera basics, aperture/shutter speed, how to use your camera settings to maximize available light using flash and reflectors, basic composition, tips and tricks for better portraits, and more! Stop by the library or check out Court House Creative on Facebook for more information about upcoming classes.

School will soon be back in session. The library is a great place for picking up a copy of your required reading, printing your syllabus, or picking up books and articles for that big research paper. Teachers, you can request materials or contact us via phone or email if you need multiple copies of a single title or subject. We are here to help!

For kids: On Thursday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m., children in grades 2 – 5 can participate in Trash or Treasure, our fast-paced, crazy-fun auction! We will supply the kids with fake cash, and they supply the moxie and strategy to snap up all the prizes. Is it trash? Is it treasure? Only you can decide! Then, on Friday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m., kids in grades 4-8 can learn to play Euchre. Right Bower? Left Bower? Trump? Be careful or you’ll be set back! Be part of the fun at your library!

In Jeffersonville: On Monday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m., join Sarah Sowell, Fayette County OSU Extension Office Program Assistant, as she leads another Adult Nutrition workshop. Toddler Time will take a break this week and resume on Tuesday, Aug. 18th, at 11 a.m. See you there!

In both Washington Court House and Jeffersonville, there is still much fun ahead with great programs and summer reading prizes! Pick up a newsletter for details and a full schedule of summer events! Many programs require registration and may have age limits. Information about all of our programs may be found on the library’s website www.cplwcho.org or by calling the Washington Court House Library at 740-335-2540 or the Jeffersonville Library at 740-426-9292.
