What’s happening at Carnegie Library?

Coming up, Carnegie Public Library, Washington C.H. and Jeffersonville, will close early at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and remain closed through Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28 for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

At the library, we check out, renew, and request thousands of books each month. Working here, you have the opportunity to talk to a lot of patrons and pick up easily on trends and popular titles. Most recently, the book buzz (as we sometimes refer to it) has been surrounding “Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter” by Kate Clifford Larson. Released in October from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, this book sheds light on the mystery surrounding Rosemary and her life. Said to be riveting, compassionate, entertaining, and rare, this book is high on our most-requested list. Reserve your copy today!

Stop by the Carnegie Public Library to see the newest works from Creative Court House! Photos on display at the library are the work of students that participated in a photography workshop. The classes covered camera basics, aperture/shutter speed, how to use your camera settings to maximize available light using flash and reflectors, basic composition, tips and tricks for better portraits, and more! Stop by the library or check out Court House Creative on Facebook for more information about upcoming classes.

For kids: As always, bring your little ones to the library’s weekly storytimes for books, stories, crafts, and play! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., is Preschool Storytime for children 4 – 6 years old and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., is Books & Blocks for children 1 – 3 years old. Siblings are welcome at either session.

In Jeffersonville: Every Tuesday at 11 a.m., come listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time. Each week is a new theme! On Monday, Nov. 23 the Jeffersonville Branch Library will host Turkey Bingo at 4:30 p.m. This program is for all ages and is guaranteed to be a gobbling good time!

Information about all of our programs may be found on the Library’s website www.cplwcho.org, or by calling the Washington Court House Library at 740-335-2540 and the Jeffersonville Library at 740-426-9292. Check us out on Facebook!
