What’s happening at Carnegie Library?

This Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m. teens in grades 9 and up are invited to an “Open Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament”! Join in or watch as monsters are summoned, spells are activated, and life points drained!

Coming up, on Thursday, March 31 at 5 p.m., a representative from PUCO (Public Utilities Commission of Ohio) will visit the library to present information to consumers about public utilities in Ohio and answer questions about your utility bills. Join us in the meeting room for this informative program!

For kids: Join us at one of our library storytimes! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., is Preschool Storytime for children 4 – 6 years old and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m., is Books & Blocks for children 1 – 3 years old. Siblings are welcome at either session. This week, March 15 and 17 the theme is “I Can Hear and Distinguish Sounds!” These great early literacy programs are fun and educational!

On Monday, March 14, at 4:30 p.m. children and tweens in grades 3-9 are invited to “Tech Toys: 3Doodler”! Participants will learn how to use a 3Doodler, a pen that writes in 3D! Draw a cube, a 3-dimensional t-Rex model; create like you never have before! Registration is required.

In Jeffersonville: Every Tuesday at 11 a.m., come listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts, socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time. March 15 will feature a “St. Patrick’s Day” theme. Create an Easter card on Wednesday, March 16 4 p.m. Registration is required for this all ages program. This week, the Jeffersonville Branch Library will be closed on Thursday, March 17 for staff training. Regular hours for the branch will resume on Monday, March 21 at 10 a.m.

April 10th – 16 is National Library Week! Carnegie Library in Washington Court House is celebrating by hosting a “Drop In and Read Day” on Tuesday, April 12 for children of all ages. Simply visit the children’s department anytime on this date, check out a book, and get a treat! Also, drop off artwork for Southern State Community College’s National Library Week “Student Art Show” at Carnegie Library by Monday, April 11 at 6 p.m. or at the Fayette Campus of SSCC by Wednesday, April 13. Everyone is invited to attend the show on Thursday, April 14 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Jeffersonville Library is celebrating too! Everyone can participate in the “Librarian’s Challenge.” Write an essay or create a poster for the challenge depicting your favorite author or book, favorite thing about the library, or why their book is overdue. The sky is the limit! We are curious to see what our patrons dream up! Join in on the fun! A chocolate surprise will be awarded to the winner!
