The Fayette County Museum has closed its doors for the winter. However, the work goes on.There is repair work to be completed, artifacts to be cataloged, and, items and rooms need to be rearranged.The work has already begun for the annual meeting of the membership to be held on Nov. 6 in the Parish Hall at St. Colman Church. The social hour will start at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Frank Bullock who is renowned for his portrayal of General William Sherman. The meeting, as always, is open to the public.

WHS Class of 1974 holds reunion

The WHS Class of 1974 held its 40th reunion with 35 members attending with spouses or guests.On Oct. 10 everyone met at Rusty Keg for food and friendship. Then on Oct. 11 the reunion took place at Streetside 62. Everyone gathered by the fireplace or indoors for food and drinks. Two former teachers were Mr. Bane and Mrs. Strivers. Honoring domestic violence victims

My Sister’s House held its annual banquet and candlelight vigil Tuesday evening at South Side Church of Christ to remember those who have experienced domestic violence, with a focus on human trafficking.During dinner, a singer honored the fallen and those still fighting domestic violence through several beautifully sung pieces. The night was overall an emotional night, but was a very good evening, according to Faye Helsel with My Sister’s House.

Girl Scouts visit Four Seasons

On Tuesday evening, Fayette County Girl Scouts visited the residents of Four Seasons of Washington for some fall fun. The girls helped the residents decorate their pumpkins they picked at a local pumpkin farm. The evening’s festivities also included a candy craft, homemade baked goods made by the residents, a movie on the big screen and a chocolate fountain.
