‘Karaoke for a Cure’

Lacey Miller’s family was recently given some bad news concerning her daughter. Kylee Miller, a third grader at Miami Trace Elementary School, was diagnosed on June 17 with juvenile diabetes.“Honestly, at first it was overwhelming for us,” Lacey said. “She was already terrified of shots and needles to the point doctors had to hold her down to give her one. Now she has to take a shot for everything she eats. For a kid who was used to being able to pick up any snack and eat, she now has to deal with shots, balancing a diet, counting carbs and a whole bunch of other things.”

The Fayette Garden Club met at the Cedarhurst cottage home of Pam Rhoads for their August summer picnic.As members arrived they were greeted by hostesses Pam Rhoads and Mary Estle.
