The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador team recently congratulated Ashley Wightman on reaching the one-year anniversary of her business, Health Kneads Massage.

Located at 136 News Plaza, Wightman offers deep tissue medical massages for 30 minutes for $37, 60 minutes for $67, 90 minutes for $97 or two-hour sessions for $127. Since opening, Wightman has now added technology that allows her to accept credit and debit cards for payment. She hopes to soon add hot stone massage, bamboo massage, sugar/salt scrubs and different types of homemade products, including a line of handmade soap from Waverly.

The biggest surprise for Wightman in her first year has been “the overall awesome response the community has given me. They’ve welcomed me with open arms and have been so great at spreading the word on how fantastic and helpful massage is for the human body.”

She is most proud of simply reaching this one-year anniversary. “A lot of people say the first year is the hardest year. I’m very proud of myself for working hard and following my dreams.”

Goals for the next year including completing her Continuing Education Units in Myofascial release, Graston technique, sports massage, Kinesiology taping and bamboo massage, so she can continually add to the line of services at Health Kneads.
