The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free lunch and seminar next week for business-minded people interested in learning how to create a website and improve their business marketing plan.

“Building A Better Website” will take place Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the Southern State Community College Community Room, 1270 US Highway 62 in Washington C.H.

The presenter is Gina Peck, of Mako Project Management. Peck is a native of Arkansas who moved to Fayette County last year. Gina began consulting for major food industry companies in 2010 and has never looked back. However, helping small businesses grow is her real passion.

Starting in 1998, Gina began working for Tyson Foods as an intern during her senior year at the University of Arkansas. Ten years later, she had found her niche in Brand Management and customer development and concentrated on turning-around under-performing businesses within the organization.

In 2015, Gina and her three kids relocated to Ohio. After living in Washington Court House for a year, she currently resides in Dayton. Gina manages a portion of the research and analytics for Tyson Foods, is an advertising executive for Catalyst Marketing and Design, handling their Wright-Patt Credit Union business and works with small businesses, specifically on social media and website development. Gina has three kids; Zach, Olivia and Kate, is an avid Michigan State basketball fan and Razorback football fan.

Topics covered in the seminar include:

– Website and social media trends for small businesses;

– The importance of developing and sticking to an on-line marketing plan;

– How often should you update your website and what content is most important; and

– The easiest way to create a website if you don’t already have one.

Sponsor for the luncheon is Studio B, a new beauty salon located at 18 S. Main St., Jeffersonville, owned by Ashley Burkhart. The salon can be reached at 740-505-1166.
