4-H Family & Consumer Sciences Board holds second meeting

The second meeting of the 4-H Family & Consumer Sciences Board was called to order by Victoria Schappacher, president. We are still waiting to see if the theme the board suggested at the last meeting, “Lights, Camera, Action at the 2017 Fayette County Jr. Fair,” will be accepted.

The meeting took place just prior to the Cooking and Sewing Fun Night. At the conclusion of the night, we had three sewing participants and three cooking participants.

We will be having a pre-judging clinic on May 22. Participants who are taking nutrition projects will learn how to set a table, how to make up a menu, information about choose my plate and food safety. Participants who are taking clothing projects will learn how to complete a “total look,” how to model your project, and how to press your garment.

Our next meeting will be May 22 at 6 p.m.
