The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Fayette County has been recognized by the OSU Alumni Association as a “Scarlet Level Club” for 2016, the first year for the recognition program.
Each alumni club and society in the association is designated as a Carmen, Gray or Scarlet club depending upon its level of activity, involvement and accountability. Scarlet is the highest honor.
The OSUAA, one of the largest and most successful alumni associations in the world, has restructured its organization and programming in order to promote and enhance the livelihood and endurance of alumni clubs and societies throughout the world. A club is a general group of graduates, attendees, and friends of the university. A society is a group with a specific commonality, such as former members of the marching band or graduates of a specific college: nursing, education, agriculture, etc.
Clubs achieve Scarlet level recognition by holding at least five Category One events from these seven areas: community service; student recruitment and retention; networking; special interest activity; arts (fine/performing); lifelong learning; and diversity/culture. Also participation in Category Two events: social gatherings, family activities, sporting events and game watch gatherings, and board meetings are required for Scarlet status. The award was presented to Pat Gall at the 2016 Leadership Training Seminar by Jim Smith, CEO of the OSU Alumni Association.
The Fayette County OSU Alumni Club activities are planned by the governing board. Board members are Barbara Beam, Jay Carey, James Essman, Jamie Etzler, Pat Gall, Sara Grim, Jessica Heskett, Brance Johnson, John Morris and Larry Schriver. Please contact any board member with questions or suggestions for activities.
All Fayette County residents who are graduates, former attendees or friends of the university are invited to participate in any of the activities. Our next event is the annual meeting on April 8, 2017. For information you may contact Pat Gall at (740) 335-7073.
