FCRTA holds summer picnic

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association saw a record crowd for its annual summer picnic, held in early August at Grace United Methodist Church. The Willow catered the picnic dinner, and the Fayette County Community Band provided a varied program ranging from a “Sound of Music” medley (this year being the movie’s 50th anniversary) to a piece based on Ohio State University’s beloved “Carmen, Ohio.” Ten of the area’s recently retired educators who attended as the honored guests are pictured here: (front, from left) Lee Lichtenberg, Patti Lightle, FCRTA Membership Chair Helen Henson and Susan Holloway; (back, from left) Dianne Junk, Becky Whitney, Elise Garringer, FCRTA President Norma Kirby, Billie Lanman, Bill Harris, Jenny Breedlove and Debbie Rhodes.

Enjoying the commentary about the music from Fayette Community Band Director Dennis Wollam are (from left) Cindy Sagar, Steve Jennings, Lauran Perrill and Dianne Junk.
