At their May 9 meeting, the Washington Lions Club awarded two college scholarships to very deserving high school seniors. The recipient from Washington High School was Savannah Wallace, the daughter of Todd and Barbie Wallace, who plans to attend Shawnee State in the fall. From Miami Trace, the recipient was Shelby Mulford, the daughter of Cheryl Turner and John Mulford, who has enrolled at the University of Wyoming. With their parents in attendance, the seniors and Lions Club members heard some motivational words from former Miami Trace superintendent Dan Roberts. The club then discussed their upcoming fundraiser that helps provide these scholarships, as well as other projects of the club. Anyone interested in membership can contact Lion Roger Parsons at (740) 335-5267.
