The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of a registered sex offender who is currently not living at the residence where he was registered.

On Sunday, deputies were making address verification checks on registered sex offenders and discovered that the home of Gerald E. Mustard, 68, of 519 Flint Drive in Washington C.H., was vacant, according to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. Mustard was convicted of gross sexual imposition in July 1994 and was ordered by the court to register as a habitual sex offender, a classification within the registration law.

Mustard is described as a white male, six feet three inches tall, and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.

“My office continually conducts unscheduled checks of registered sex offenders for the purpose of address compliance,” said Stanforth. “When these offenders provide a residential address at the time of their registration, deputies provide the follow-up measure of ensuring the accuracy of the address given. Those offenders found not in compliance are prosecuted according to law.”

An arrest warrant for Mustard has been filed in the Washington C.H. Municipal Court, charging him with failure to register a change of address. It is believed that Mustard may be in the Columbus area, according to Stanforth.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mustard is urged to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 740-335-6170 or by visiting the FCSO website at www.faycoso.com and clicking on the “Report a Tip” link.
