The first-ever Main Street Fall Fest is coming to downtown Washington C.H. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The entire community is invited to participate in this fall kick-off, which will include craft and artisan vendors, food trucks, a car and bike cruise-in, live music, kids’ activities, and more. The event will run from 1-7 p.m.

This festival came to fruition due to the hard work of the Main Street Fayette committee, a group of determined citizens whose goal is to revitalize downtown Washington C.H. by bringing the community together.

“We want to do something like this on an annual basis,” said Mekia Rhoades, the chairperson of Main Street Fayette. “We want the whole community to come out and have a good time. It’s free and there will be fun for the whole family.”

Anyone can participate in both the craft and artisan vendor displays, as well as the car and bike cruise-in.

The live music will begin at 1:30 on the courthouse lawn with “Derailed” performing until 2:30 p.m. Mckenna Roe, a talented local singer, will perform from 3-4 p.m. The music entertainment will wrap up with a performance from the band, “Johnny Lawless,” from 5-7 p.m.

Local food vendors will be downtown during the event and the Fayette Family YMCA will be providing kids’ activities on the courthouse lawn.

Parking will be available at the parking lot on East and Main streets.

“We’ll have some benches out there, but those attending are welcome to bring lawn chairs if they wish,” said Rhoades. “We just want everyone to have a good time and celebrate as a community.”
