The Washington C.H. Police Department is investigating the alleged armed robbery of Thompson’s Depot on East Elm Street.

The complainant reported that on Monday at 12:47 p.m. a white male entered the store, brandished a firearm and stole an undetermined amount of cash from the cash register, according to the WPD. The man then reportedly fled from the store on foot toward the alley beside South Side Church on South Fayette Street.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 19 and 21-years-old, who at the time was wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans, with a buzz-style haircut. He did not have any visible tattoos or facial hair, police said.

According to the WPD, he was dropped off at the store by an older white male with a beard. The man was driving an “older style” Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck that was spray painted flat black. Witnesses told police that the truck had a lot of “junk” in its bed.

Both suspects were at large as of Wednesday evening.

“We’re following a couple of leads and are actively investigating the incident,” said WPD Lt. Jon Long.

Anyone with information that could be helpful in the investigation of the robbery should contact the WPD at 740-636-2375 or Sgt. Page at [email protected]. “We encourage anyone with information to come forward,” said Long.
