A Washington C.H. man was recently sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.

Bradley K. Cox, 35, of 721 Temple St., was indicted on July 10 on one count of illegal manufacture of drugs, a felony of the second degree; one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree; one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the second degree; one count of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, a felony of the third degree; one count of permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree; one count of possessing drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor of the second degree; and one count of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, on May 5, Washington C.H. probation officers met with two members of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for a home visit as two residents of the home were found to have active warrants for their arrest. After a search of the residence, one detective advised the probation officers that there were several precursors for a possible meth lab inside of the residence, according to reports.

The detectives located a “one-pot” meth lab on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator.

On Friday in Fayette County Common Pleas Court, Cox pleaded guilty to one count of illegal manufacture of drugs and one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs. The Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed counts three, four, five, six, and seven of the indictment as part of the plea agreement.

Cox was sentenced to a mandatory term of three years for count one and three years on count two to be served concurrently with count one. The Court ordered that Cox’s driver’s license be suspended for a period of six months.

Cox was granted 72 days jail-time credit and ordered to forfeit $91, as well as pay a mandatory fine in the amount of $7,500 for both counts, and the costs of prosecution.
