According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:

OCT. 26

AGGRAVATED MENACING: Heather Fryer of Washington C.H. reported that a known male threatened her with harm. Douglas Lunsford was later arrested on a warrant from this incident.

PROTECTION ORDER SERVICE: Deputies served a protection order pursuant to order of the court.

THEFT: An employee of Ralph Lauren of Jeffersonville reported two unknown males entered the store and concealed multiple items and departed the store.

OCT. 25

THEFT/BREAKING AND ENTERING: Ronald Helsel of Bloomingburg reported someone entered his barn and removed several tools.

ASSAULT: Deputies were dispatched to an Old Chillicothe Road residence on a reported assault. The complainant was referred to the solicitor for charges.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies responded to the 700 block of Parrott Station Road on a domestic incident. Upon completion of their investigation it was determined that no threats or violence occurred.

OCT. 24

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Cecil Smalley of Washington C.H. reported while in a verbal argument with a male subject he was assaulted. Jordan Smalley of Washington C.H. was arrested and charged in the matter.

BREAKING AND ENTERING/THEFT: Roger Griffitts of Washington C.H. reported someone entered a detached garage and removed an ATV.

THEFT: Old Navy Outlet reported someone entered the business and departed with merchandise without making payment.

TRAFFIC CRASH: James Coldiron of Jeffersonville reported while traveling West on U.S. 35 and struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Sheriff’s deputies responded to U.S. 62 on a domestic incident. Upon arrival all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

OCT. 23

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Bloomingburg Post Office reported someone caused damage to several signs posted along the wall near the teller window.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Colonial Drive in Jeffersonville on a domestic incident. Upon arrival all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assaulted or threats of violence had occurred.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Michael K. Shafer of New Vienna was traveling northbound on U.S. 62 South approaching Staunton when Shafer struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Maria L. Storer of Jeffersonville reported sometime overnight someone damaged her motor vehicle while it was parked at a friend’s residence.

AGGRAVATED MENACING: Dalton Hawkins of Washington C.H. reported a known male who was intoxicated threatened him with a knife. Marvin Streitenberger of Washington C.H. was arrested and charged in the matter.

TRAFFIC CRASH/HIT SKIP: Dale Merritt of Jeffersonville reported someone sometime overnight struck his vehicle and departed the scene.

OCT. 22

TRAFFIC CRASH: Nick Suroiu, Cortland was south bound on I-71 near the 74 mile marker when the vehicle in front of him, driven by Cole Brown, Xenia slowed down abruptly. Mr. Suroiu stated he was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Mr. Brown’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, but were driven from the scene. Mr. Suroiu was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

THEFT: Sharon Loveall of Washington C.H. reported a known person cashed a check from her account.

DOG AT LARGE: James Swayne of Washington C.H. reported two canines injured livestock on his property.

TELEPHONE HARASSAMENT: Deputies responded to a Staunton Jasper Road property on a report of unwanted text messages being received by a known suspect.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: A Leesburg resident reported she was being harassed by telephone by a known female.

OCT. 21

TRAFFIC CRASH: Kristine E. Rumer of Leesburg was traveling northbound near 9497 Stafford Road when Rumer struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Ryan Swigert of South Solon was traveling northbound near 2968 Yeoman Road when Swigert struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported.

ASSISTING OTHER AGENCY, FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE: Lindsay N. Lemons of Washington C.H. was arrested on several outstanding warrants from Highland County.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING: Jonathan King of Washington C.H. reported he observed two people around his residence in the early morning hours.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: David Seymour, Washington C.H. reported someone damaged a garage window on his rental property on Peddicord Ave.

THEFT/POSSESSION OF CRIMINAL TOOLS: Neathen McClendon, of Columbus, reported someone took his vehicle from a residence on Grace Street without permission. A description of the vehicle was aired to law enforcement units and the vehicle was located in the S.R. 435/I-71 area where a traffic stop was initiated. Vercie Lark, of Dayton, was identified as the operator of the vehicle and was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of criminal tools.

OCT. 20

TRAFFIC CRASH: Jerome T. Snyder of Columbus was traveling southbound on I-71 near the 71 mile post when Snyder struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported.

TRAFFIC CRASH: Cory Hogsett, Wilmington reported he was west bound on U.S. 22 when he failed to observe the pickup truck and trailer, driven by Herbert Timmons, Washington C.H., ahead of him slowing down to make a right turn into a driveway. Mr. Hogsett attempted to avoid striking by steering off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Timmons continued his right turn, into the path of Mr. Hogsett. Mr. Hogsett’s vehicle struck the right side of Mr. Timmons vehicle, resulting in heavy damage being sustained to both vehicles. Mr. Hogsett was cited for failure to maintain marked lanes.
