A 22-year-old Washington C.H. man has been charged with the rape and sexual battery of a 13-year-old girl.

Michael Toney, of 704 S. Main St., is accused of raping the girl at his home on Sunday, according to the Washington C.H. Police Department. After the incident was reported to police by the victim’s mother, Toney allegedly admitted to the sex crimes during an interview with officers.

Toney is also being investigated for other possible sex crimes, according to police. “The information gathered during the initial investigation has led us to open a new investigation into criminal sexual conduct with at least one other victim,” said Lt. Jon Long.

The information has been submitted to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The rape charge is a felony of the first degree and the sexual battery charge is a fourth-degree felony. Toney is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
