Authorities responded to Doug Marine Motors early Friday morning after a vehicle reportedly crashed into a landscape display and into a vehicle that was on display in front of the business.

At approximately 5:44 a.m., a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Zacharia A. Upton, 24, of Hillsboro, was heading eastbound on U.S. 22 in Washington C.H. when Upton lost control of the vehicle, according to reports. The vehicle traveled off the left (north) side of the roadway, struck a culvert pipe, and crossed the west driveway entrance to Doug Marine Motors, 1120 U.S. 22 West.

The Equinox drove through the landscape display and struck a 2016 Chrysler 200 on the sales row in front of the business, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Upton’s vehicle rotated 180 degrees before coming to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Upton was reportedly able to get out of the vehicle before the arrival of responding officers. No serious injuries were reported.

Upton was cited for failure to control.
