The Fayette County Commissioners agreed on several contracts and resolutions at their meeting on Dec. 21, including allocation of funds to provide placement and related services for children.

The commissioners meeting included a variety of contracts and resolutions to be approved or amended. Two of the contracts, per the request of Faye Williamson (Director of Department of Job and Family Services), were to secure funds for the placement and related services for children in the care and custody of the Fayette County Children Services. The two contracts were for Children Services and Safe House as well as Children Services and Transitions for Youth.

The motion to approve the first contract with Safe House was carried with a unanimous vote. The contract was approved with the maximum payable amount at $60,000. The motion to approve the second contract with Transitions for Youth was also carried unanimously by the commissioners. This contract was approved with the maximum payable amount at $100,000.

In other news, a contract was approved unanimously that establishes an agreement with Weller’s Plumbing and Heating in Greenfield to provide labor and travel for service/repairs to HVAC systems in county-owned buildings. The rates for the contract were set: Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an hourly rate of $70; technical (controls) at a rate of $74; an overtime rate Monday through Saturday of $77; Sunday and holiday rates of $80 and a trip charge of $28.

Two more agreements approved during the meeting included an agreement, recommended by Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, with Stephen Campbell & Associates, Inc., in Beachwood, for guaranteed maintenance service on the recording equipment at the sheriff’s office. This was set for the sum of $3,300 and will remain in effect from Feb. 1, 2016 through Jan 31, 2017. The second agreement, recommended by Fayette County Coroner Dr. Dennis Mesker, will enter into an agreement with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for autopsy services for the annual sum of $33,000. This agreement will cover all of 2016.

A resolution authorizing payment of comp time for Michael G. Meadows, IT manager, and a motion to amend a contract, that was established Dec. 24, 2012, to include an updated time frame and payable amount for janitorial services at several county buildings were also approved.
