The Washington Court House Lions Club held its May meeting at the Crown Room on Tuesday, May 10.

It was their annual scholarship night, with recipients from Washington and Miami Trace high schools in attendance. This year, Olivia Buckner from Washington represented her school and Mary Climer represented Miami Trace.

In the fall, Olivia plans to attend Ohio University in Chillicothe to major in nursing. Mary plans to enroll at Ohio University in Athens and become a counselor for the disadvantaged. The speaker for the evening was former history teacher Paul LaRue, who spoke about historic events 100 years ago and how that correlates today.
