The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association, member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association (ORTA), will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, at the Grace Methodist Church in Washington Court House.

Lunch will be provided at noon. All retired teachers are encouraged to attend to hear an important presentation from Bob Stein, State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) of Ohio trustee and 2017 chairman of the STRS Board, about changes impacting teachers’ retirement and healthcare.

Reservations are encouraged and can be made by contacting Marie Fetters at (740) 335-8986 by May 26.

ORTA advocates and promotes the improvement of pensions, benefits and services available to Ohio’s active and retired public educators. The association represents and takes action on behalf of its constituents through STRS, the Ohio legislature and other agencies dealing with retirement issues.

Membership is open to any teacher or administrator retired from the public schools, state and municipal colleges and universities of Ohio; any teacher or administrator retired in any other state but living in Ohio; any spouse who becomes a benefit recipient of STRS; and any person in Ohio interested in education and the issues of retirees.
