New Holland celebrates Memorial Day


The Village of New Holland celebrated Memorial Day on Monday afternoon with a parade and a ceremony. This event is held thanks to New Holland VFW 8041 and its commander Dennis McCoppin. The Frankfort American Legion Honor Guard was on hand during the celebration.


Bruce Kirkpatrick, co-owner of Kirk’s Furniture in New Holland, drove in the parade on Monday afternoon.


The community was invited to join in the parade, and children were seen with customized bikes and toys alongside parents and other residents Monday.


The New Holland Memorial Day parade Monday had many participants, including the Pic-A-Fay Fire District and community residents.


New Holland also held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the cemetery following the parade. The guest speakers for the ceremony were Paul LaRue and Jeff Garringer.
