Last call for Cub Scout yard sale

This is the last week to donate to the yard sale drive and fundraiser hosted by the parents of Fayette County Cub Scouts pack 5112. The parents are organizing a community yard sale to benefit the Cub Scouts.

Mikki Lehr, of Bloomingburg, is the assistant Cubmaster of pack 5112 and said last week the yard sale will benefit the 36 boys in the pack in first through fifth grades.

“We have had four families donate so far, and we have two more commitments. What we could use more of is housewares (dishes, silverware, cups, pans, pots, bake ware, small appliances), toys, electronics and primitive décor but anything is welcomed. Thanks for your help in this! Y’all have been more than kind,” Lehr said in an e-mail yesterday.

The funds from the yard sale will help to pay for Cub Scout expenses and events this year, according to Lehr. The Cub Scouts themselves will not be involved in the yard sale—only parents—but the Cub Scouts will be involved in taking the remaining items to be donated to The Well at Sunnyside.

Lehr said an empty storage unit has been donated to give them a place to put the donations received for the yard sale. Lehr is asking for community members to donate household items for the fundraiser. The parents will be accepting donations now through June 27 at 3 p.m.

Those who are interested in making a donation of household items to the yard sale may contact Mikki Lehr directly by calling or texting (740) 406-8775 or by e-mail at [email protected].
