Market in full swing Saturday

0

In addition to the seasonal harvest of sweet corn, tomatoes, watermelon, tomatoes, squash, assorted peppers, green beans and other produce, Tom McMurray will be at the market to sharpen your garden tools, from axes and mattocks to clippers and loppers.

Miller’s Donut Truck will be here and so will Denise’s “Dan’s Deli” food truck. Market manager David will have information on and can process ticket orders for Fayette County’s FIRST “Farm to Fork” dinner to be held this Saturday, Aug. 20 at Garland Farms. This annual community dinner event also serves as a fundraiser for Fayette County service agencies. This year’s dinner proceeds will benefit the Hospice of Fayette County Expanding our Heart program.

The following list contains the names and products of the vendors that expect to set up for the Saturday Fayette County Farmers’ Market. The market is open every Saturday morning from 8:30 to noon and is located in the municipal parking lot on the corner of South Main and East East streets. SNAP EBT food benefit cards and credit/debit cards are accepted. We are offering a new program called veggie SNAPS and it permits those who use a SNAP EBT card for food items to receive matching dollar tokens (one for one) for additional fruits and vegetables! It’s a BOGO for fruit and vegetables, up to $10 EVERY market day! Be sure to ask David about the new veggie SNAPS produce program for SNAP EBT cards.
