The Good Dog Groomery celebrated its one-year anniversary this week with a visit from the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. Owner Jackie Roberts opened the doors one year ago at 222 E. Court St. in Washington C.H., providing dog grooming services and business has been booming.
“It’s been crazy. I would have never dreamed that I would be this busy,” said Roberts, who reports that in the last year The Good Dog has clipped 15,000 nails, done 1,500 groomings, 3,500 doggy massages and received at least 4,218 puppy kisses.
To meet demand, Roberts has now added one full-time staff person. With that comes additional equipment including a new grooming station, and new drying station in the back.
The Good Dog Groomery is also giving back to the community. The store participated in the spring Chocolate Walk and is sponsoring the Paws for Cause 5K on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Christman Park.
The biggest surprise about owning her own business? “Honestly how the town has embraced us. The support from the pet parents trusting us with their babies has been awesome,” said Roberts.
