It’s a ‘Miracle on Court Street’

The annual holiday parade in downtown Washington C.H. has been set for Sunday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m. and the theme this year is “Miracle on Court Street.”

Parade applications and nominations for grand marshal of the parade are now being accepted, according to Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Director Whitney Gentry.

For the third year in a row, there is no cost to enter the parade.

“It takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention funds, to get these floats and parade entries ready,” said Gentry. “We want to encourage more people to participate, and as such, there will not be a cost to enter.”

Grand marshal nomination forms are available at the Chamber office or on the organization’s website at www.fayettecountyohio.com. All nominations must be submitted by Oct. 24.

To obtain a parade entry application, download the form off the Chamber website or pick up a copy at the Chamber office. The deadline to submit parade applications is Friday, Nov. 18.

There will be a slight change to the parade route this year. The lineup returns to Washington C.H. High School and Middle School parking lots and will end at Circle Avenue and McHenry Field.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity of the city schools and the City of Washington Court House and their police department with these changes,” said Gentry. “This is a community event and they are just a few of the entities involved in making this possible.”
