The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following incidents:
Traffic Crash: Larry A. Mongold of Washington C.H. was stopped at the intersection on U.S. Route 22 East at State Route 753. Mongold began backing improperly and struck a stopped motor vehicle driven by Andrew P. Hatzos. Both vehicles suffered minor damage. No injuries were reported. Mongold was cited for improper backing.
Traffic Crash: Andrew J. Barnes of Columbus was traveling southbound in the area of 8852 State Route 753 when Barnes failed to maintain control of his motor vehicle while negotiating a left hand curve. Barnes traveled off the west side of the roadway, striking a concrete culvert. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported. Barnes was cited for failure to control.
Traffic Crash: Devon Holloway of Washington C.H. was traveling northbound on U.S. 62 North, just south of Bloomingburg-New Holland Road when Holloway failed to maintain control of his motor vehicle. Holloway traveled left of center, off the west side of the roadway into the ditch, and struck two trees. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported. Holloway was cited for failure to control.
Burglary/Theft: Pearl Sutton of Bloomingburg reported during the morning hours persons unknown entered his residence, and removed several items. The offenses remain under investigation.
Assault: Jeremy Eggleton of Washington C.H. reported he was assaulted by a known male. Prosecution was declined at the time of the report.
Traffic Crash: Kara Sansone of Rockford, Ill. was traveling west on U.S. 35 and lost control of her vehicle on inclement roadways. Sansone traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a guardrail. Sansone was transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
Breaking and Entering/Theft/Criminal Damaging: Diana Taylor, employee of Buckeye Community Apartments, reported that the office area of the business had been forcibly entered. Appliances and vending machines were damaged in an attempt to access the coin boxes on the equipment.
Assault: William Webb III of Frankfort reported that while at Winkin Willie’s bar, an unknown male had struck him in the face causing an abrasion to his lip.
Breaking and Entering/Theft: Jeffery Michael of Washington C.H. reports that person(s) unknown had entered his property on U.S. 62 North and removed property.
Traffic Crash: Christopher Pitakos of Washington C.H. reported he was eastbound on Flakes Ford Road when a deer entered his vehicle’s path and was subsequently struck. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
Theft: Employees at GAP Outlet, Tanger Outlet Mall, Jeffersonville, reported that they observed a male departing the business that appeared suspicious. Upon reviewing security video, they confirmed that the subject had concealed merchandise on his person and departed the store without paying for the items. The area was checked however the suspect could not be located.
Theft: Kristen Gardner of Washington C.H. reported that while at J’s Corner on Yeoman Road, person(s) unknown removed her purse from inside the business.
Theft: Gary Joseph of Washington C.H. reported that person(s) unknown removed items from his residence. The incident is under investigation.
