At that time, Communism was probably the greatest concern as far as persecution went. In countries such as China, North Vietnam, Laos church attendance was strictly forbidden and persons could end up in prison. Even today, North ...

Getting Ahead: From Generation to Generation

I can remember a picture that we had taken after my first son Scott had been born. That picture had my son Scott, me, my Dad, my grandmother, and my great grandmother. That was five generations alive and in one picture. We still have that picture somewhere and it is a treasure. A family that has five generations alive is rare but most families experience at least three; grandparents, parents and children.

Getting Ahead – Keeping Company

When I was a child growing up I was taught that you must keep the right company. My parents would monitor my friends and if they did not act right, I was told that I could not play with them. This went on until I was a teenager. The few times this happened, I did not agree with my parents. I thought that they were wrong about that particular friend and I was not happy about being made to stay away from them. However, as I look back at those times, I see that they were not being jud...
