Soccer, volleyball tournaments this week

It’s tournament time in Ohio high school sports with soccer and volleyball beginning postseason play this week.

Locally, in volleyball, the Washington Lady Blue Lions (a No. 6 seed) plays at No. 3 seed Miami Trace Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The winner of that match plays at the winner of the Unioto (No. 2 seed) vs. McClain (No. 7 seed) match on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. for the Sectional championship.

In girls soccer, Miami Trace is a No. 5 seed and will play at No. 4 seed Hillsboro Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The winner of that match plays at the No. 1 seed Chillicothe Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.

Washington (a No. 7 seed) plays at Circleville (No. 2 seed) Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The winner of that match hosts the winner of the Unioto (No. 3 seed) vs McClain (No. 6 seed) match on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.

In boys soccer, Miami Trace (a No. 4 seed) hosts No. 5 seed Logan Elm Thursday at 5 p.m. The winner of that match advances to the District semifinal (likely against Athens) on Tuesday, Oct. 25 5 p.m.

Washington (a No. 6 seed) plays at No. 3 seed Zane Trace Thursday at 5 p.m.

The winner of that match plays the winner of the Warren (No. 2 seed) vs South Point (No. 7 seed) match Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
