Lady Panthers soccer fall to Hillsboro in Sectional, 4-0

HILLSBORO — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers soccer team visited Hillsboro Tuesday, Oct. 18 for a Sectional tournament match against the Lady Indians.

Hillsboro won the match, 4-0.

They will move on to play Chillicothe on Saturday.

The first goal came from Hillsboro with 18:36 to go in the first half, leaving the score 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, goals were scored at 23:48, 11:31, and 0:21.

“Taylor Barrett played very well for us tonight and had 23 saves in the goal,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said.

“These girls played hard and have shown tremendous improvement throughout the season,” Francis said. “Although this was not how we wanted the season to end, I’m very proud of these girls and all they have accomplished on the field.”

Miami Trace finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 4-13. The Lady Panthers went 4-8 in the final season of the South Central Ohio League.
