Quartet receives All-Ohio honors

Three local basketball players and one local coach have received All-Ohio honors for the 2016-17 season by the Associated Press.

Miami Trace High School junior Tanner Bryant was named Second Team, All-Ohio.

Bryant averaged 14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

She shot 80 percent from the free throw line, 44 percent from the field and 27 percent from three-point range.

Miami Trace junior Victoria Fliehman was named Third Team, All-Ohio.

Fliehman averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2 steals per game.

She shot 82 percent from the foul line, 43 percent from the floor and 36 percent from behind the three-point line.

From Washington High School, sophomore Hannah Haithcock was named Honorable Mention, All-Ohio.

Haithcock averaged 17.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2 steals and 1.7 assists per game.

She shot 46 percent from two-point range, 28 percent from behind the three-point line and 70 percent from the charity stripe.

Miami Trace head coach Ben Ackley was named Division II Coach of the Year, along with two other coaches in Ohio.

Ackley led Miami Trace to back-to-back outright South Central Ohio League championships and led the Lady Panthers to a Sectional, District and Regional championship, all the way to the State Final Four. It was the Miami Trace girls basketball program’s second-ever trip to the State Final Four, the other coming in 2010.
