Blue Lion tennis blanks Hillsboro

The Washington Blue Lion tennis team hosted the squad from Hillsboro High School for an SCOL match Monday, April 24.

Washington won the match, 5-0.

At first singles, Kenny Upthegrove defeated Daniel Jackey, 6-1, 6-2.

At second singles, Jordan Behm beat Spencer Brown, 6-1, 6-0.

At third singles, Grant Kuhlwein topped Andrew Gunderman, 6-3, 6-3.

Grant Mustain and Madalyn Wayne defeated Austin Bumgardner and Austin Pendell at first doubles, 6-1, 6-2.

At second doubles, Jack Luebee and Max Schroeder beat Gabe Gilliland and Ethan Snapp, 6-2, 6-2.

Hillsboro won a j-v singles match as Spencer Knapp beat Tony Kuenzli in a pro-set, 8-3.

Washington is now 6-5 overall, 6-4 in the SCOL.

The Blue Lions will host Wilmington Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
