PLAIN CITY — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers improved to 11-2 on the season, posting their eighth win in a row, with a 48-27 victory at Jonathan Alder High School Monday, Dec. 28.

For Miami Trace, junior Samantha Ritenour was the game’s leading scorer with 13 points.

Sophomore Victoria Fliehman had 12 points, senior Alexis Schwartz scored nine and sophomore Tanner Bryant had eight points.

Taylor Gaerke led the Pioneers with 10 points.

“The kids played extremely hard,” Miami Trace head coach Ben Ackley said. “For the first time all year, I thought we showed signs of being a great team. But, we’re still playing in peaks and valleys.

“We had balanced scoring,” Ackley said. “That makes us very tough to stop, offensively. We have five or six kids who are all capable of scoring.

“We played everyone who dressed varsity,” Ackley said. “It was nice to get everyone in the game.”

Miami Trace led at one time by as many as 26 points, Ackley said.

“We rebounded the ball extremely well,” Ackley said. “And we played very well defensively.”
