Lady Panthers beat S’eastern, 39-33

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers traveled to Southeastern High School Saturday for a match-up with another team of Panthers.

Miami Trace, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Adena Sectional tournament, defeated Southeastern, a No. 2 seed in the Division III Sectional in Waverly, 39-33.

Sophomore Victoria Fliehman was the game’s leading scorer for Miami Trace with 17 points.

Sophomore Tanner Bryant had 15 points for Miami Trace.

Junior Samantha Ritenour led Miami Trace with 10 rebounds.

Ella Skeens led Southeastern with 14 points. Audrey Wheeler scored nine and Mckinley Mitten had seven points.

Miami Trace led 12-11 at the end of the first quarter.

Miami Trace outscored Southeastern 10-3 in the second quarter to take a 22-14 halftime lead.

Southeastern came back with a 10-4 third quarter, pulling to within two points, 26-24.

Miami Trace won the fourth quarter 13-9 to take the victory.

Both teams shot 28 percent from the floor.

Miami Trace won the game at the line, making 14 of 17 free throw attempts for 82 percent, compared to 1 of 4 for Southeastern.

Miami Trace, now 19-2 on the season, having extended their winning streak to 16 games, plays at McClain Saturday with the j-v game at 5:30 p.m.

Miami Trace has already clinched a share of the SCOL title with a record of 12-1. The Lady Panthers will be outright champs with a win at McClain.

The Lady Tigers beat Hillsboro Saturday, 52-48. McClain is now 17-3 overall, 10-2 in the SCOL. They have an SCOL make-up game Wednesday at Chillicothe before the big game Saturday night.
