WILMINGTON — The Washington Lady Blue Lions softball team visited Wilmington High School Monday afternoon.
The two teams completed a suspended game from April 8, with Washington winning, 7-6.
In the regularly scheduled game, Wilmington edged Washington, 7-6.
In the completion of the suspended game, Kate Jude was the winning pitcher for Washington. She pitched seven innings with seven hits and six runs (two earned) two walks and four strikeouts.
Wendy Hawk led Washington at the plate, going 3-3 with a double, two runs scored and two rbi.
Jude had one hit and drove in two runs; Madison Helterbrand was 1 for 3 with one run scored; Maddy Jenkins was 1 for 4 with one run scored; Ciera Strahler was 1 for 2 with one run scored and one rbi.
Helterbrand and Annie Semler each had one stolen base.

In the regularly scheduled game, Wilmington scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 7-6 victory.
Kate Jude took the loss in this game. She pitched 6.2 innings with 10 hits and seven runs (six earned), two walks and one strikeout.
Jude also shared the team lead in hits with three, including a double and one rbi.
Taylor Harrington went 3 for 4 with a double.
Madison Helterbrand went 2 for 4 with a home run, four rbi and two runs scored.
Maddy Jenkins went 2 for 3 with a double, one rbi and one run scored.
Brooklyn Wilson, Kalee Crowe and Caylee Mussetter each had one basehit.
Wilmington took a 3-0 lead after batting in the bottom of the second inning.
Washington got one of those runs back in the third, but Wilmington negated that with a run in their turn at the plate in the third.
The Lady Lions scored four runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to take a 6-4 lead.
Wilmington’s Lyla Self had a two-out single to break a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the seventh.
