This is the final week of the regular season in high school baseball and softball.

Postseason tournaments begin Monday, May 9. The pairings were announced Sunday.

In Division II baseball, The Washington Blue Lions (a No. 5 seed) will play at Miami Trace (a No. 4 seed) on Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m.

The winner of that game will take a trip to Ohio University where they will take on one of three teams (Athens, Chillicothe or Jackson) on Monday, May 16 at 5 p.m.

The McClain Tigers baseball team travels to New Lexington on Monday, May 9 and Hillsboro plays at Fairfield Union on May 12.

The Washington Lady Blue Lion softball team is a No. 5 seed in the tournament. Like their baseball counterparts, they will play the No. 4 seed Miami Trace. That game is set for Wednesday, May 11 at 5 p.m. at Miami Trace.

The winner of that game advances to the Sectional finals where they will play at the home of one of three teams (Meigs, the No. 1 seed, or Athens (No. 8 seed) or Marietta (No. 9 seed)) on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m.

McClain softball (a No. 8 seed at 3-11) travels to No. 1 seed Fairfield Union on May 11.

Hillsboro’s softball team is seeded No. 7. They will open the tournament at Circleville on Monday 11 at 5 p.m.

The Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers’ softball team will host Waverly on May 11.
