Blue Lions blank Wildcats, fall at L-Valley

The Washington Blue Lion baseball team has split its last two games.

On Tuesday, May 3, Washington traveled to Blanchester to play the Wildcats.

The Blue Lions won this game, 8-0.

Aaron Greer authored a two-hit, complete game shutout for Washington. He walked three and struck out 10.

The Blue Lions made the most of five hits and played error-free baseball.

Blanchester committed four errors.

Richardson started and took the loss for the Wildcats.

He pitched 6.1 innings with five hits and eight runs (four earned) with four walks and six strikeouts.

Davidson came in and finished the game for Blanchester, with two-thirds of an inning, two walks and one strikeout.

Washington scored all the runs they would need with two in the first inning.

The Lions added one run in the third and five in the seventh.

Cole Massie hit a grand slam home run in the seventh inning. It was his first home run of the season.

Jarett Patton and Brian Wilson both had two hits for Washington.

Blue Lions fall at Lucasville Valley

The Blue Lions played at Lucasville Valley Wednesday, falling to the Indians, 9-4.

Cole Massie started and took the loss for the Blue Lions on the mound. He pitched three innings with six hits and seven runs (all earned). He walked three and struck out two.

Jarett Patton pitched three innings for Washington. He yielded five hits and two runs (both earned) with one walk and no strikeouts.

Eli Harr started and got the win for LV. He pitched three innings with two hits and two runs (one earned) with four walks and one strikeout.

Hill worked two-thirds of an inning, with two hits and two runs (one earned). Aaron Linne pitched the final 3.1 innings with three hits and two strikeouts.

The Blue Lions were led offensively by Patton, going 2 for 4 with two rbi and Connor Chrisman, who was 2 for 3 with a run scored. One of his hits was a double.

The Blue Lions are scheduled to host Adena Friday at 5 p.m. They are at Paint Valley Monday and will host Waverly on Tuesday.

Washington will be at Miami Trace for the opening round of the Sectional tournament Thursday, May 12 at 5 p.m.
