The Washington Lady Blue Lion softball team hosted former SCOL opponent Madison Plains Thursday.

The Lady Eagles won the game, 15-3 in five innings.

Courtney Davis was the starting and winning pitcher for Madison Plains. She pitched five innings with nine hits and three runs (two earned) with no walks and one strikeout.

Kate Jude was the starting pitcher for Washington, suffering the loss. She pitched three innings with 13 hits and 13 runs (five earned), with one walk and one strikeout.

Ciera Strahler pitched two innings with three hits and two runs (both earned).

Defensively, the Lady Lions had four errors.

Madison Plains led the game 2-1 after the first inning.

In the second, Plains erupted for eight runs.

Washington scored one in the bottom of the second.

The Eagles put three more runs on the board in the top of the third.

Washington countered with one run in the third.

The final runs of the game were two by Madison Plains in the top of the fourth.

The game was called after five innings in accordance with the 10-run rule.

Offensively for Washington, Brooklyn Wilson, Jude and Kalee Crowe each had two hits.

Wilson, Wendy Hawk and Taylor Harrington crossed the plate for Washington.

Tori Bevington led Madison Plains with three hits, including a home run and a double, three rbi and three runs scored.

Shelby Puckett, Macey Long, Davis, Macy McCollister, Taylor Sollars and Courtney Cress, all had two hits for Plains.

Washington (9-12) opens tournament play at Miami Trace Wednesday at 5 p.m.
