Downtown Photo edges Mustangers, 12-11

The Mustangers held a one-game lead over Downtown Photo in standings of the Major Division of the Washington C.H. Little League, through games of June 17.

On Monday night, the top two teams in the division met, with Downtown Photo scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth to come away with a 12-11 victory.

Mustangers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

Downtown Photo tied the game in the bottom of the second.

Mustangers took a 4-1 lead after three innings and tacked on three more runs in the top of the fourth for a 7-1 lead.

Downtown Photo began its comeback effort with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Mustangers scored one in the top of the fifth for an 8-3 lead.

Downtown Photo kept the back-and-forth battle going with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 9-8 lead.

Mustangers scored three in the top of the sixth to lead, 11-9.

Downtown Photo plated three in the bottom of the sixth for the 12-11 win.

Brady Armstrong was the winning pitcher for Downtown Photo.

Gabe Campagna started and Cal Wightman was the second pitcher used by Downtown Photo.

Connor Bucher started on the mound for Mustangers.

Alex Boles, Hugh Silberman, Josiah Whitt and Will Miller also pitched for Mustangers.

Connor Bucher hit a triple for Mustangers and Tyler Tackage hit a double for Downtown Photo.

Also on Monday, June 20, First State Bank played Super Sport in another Major Division match-up.

Those teams were third and fourth, respectively, in the standings through games of June 17.

Super Sport won this game, 11-9.

Brayden May was the winning pitcher for Super Sport.

At the plate, May hit a triple. Teammate Tanner Lemaster also hit a triple.

Cole Little and Zack Warnock also saw time on the mound for Super Sport.

Weston Melvin and Mason Coffman were the pitcher for First State Bank.

Melvin hit a triple for First State Bank.

In the game between Super Sport and McDonald’s, Tanner Lemaster was the winning pitcher for Super Sport.

Brayden May started for Super Sport.

Pitchers for McDonald’s were Jonah Waters, Evan Lynch and Rishaun Burns.
