WCH All-stars beat Northridge, 21-1

NORTHRIDGE — On a rare beautiful evening for baseball, the Washington C.H. 10-year-old all-stars traveled to Northridge and emerged with a 21-1 win in four innings in the District Eight tournament Wednesday.

Washington C.H. is scheduled to host Moraine-West Carrollton Friday at 6 p.m.

Washington C.H. scored 12 runs in the first inning en route to the blow-out victory.

Brayden Kettles pitched the first inning-plus for Washington C.H. He allowed one hit, issued two walks, struck out three batters and hit one batter. There was also an error on Washington C.H. in the first inning.

Kettles faced one batter in the bottom of the second, issuing a walk.

At that point, Tyler Tackage was brought in to pitch and he worked the final three innings of the game.

He allowed no runs on one hit. He struck out three and walked two.

Washington C.H. collected 13 hits and drew a total of 10 walks.

Kettles went 3 for 3 at the plate with an inside-the-park home run and four rbi.

Jonah Waters was 2 for 2 with a pair of doubles, four runs scored and three rbi.

A.J. Dallmayer went 3 for 4 with an inside-the-park home run, a double, seven rbi and four runs scored.

Washington C.H. sent 17 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning.

They collected seven hits in the inning, took six walks and scored 12 runs.

Dallmayer hit an inside-the-park home run to make it 3-0.

Kettles soon followed with an inside-the-park home run to make it 5-0.

Andrew Guthrie hit a double, driving in a run. He soon scored on an error.

Kylan Howard singled, scoring Collin Southworth who reached on an error.

Cody Brown walked and Waters hit a double, scoring Howard.

Dallmayer drove in his fourth and fifth runs of the inning with a single that scored Waters and Brown.

Tackage walked and Kettles hit a single that scored Dallmayer.

Before the first inning was even over, the Washington C.H. all-stars began to hold their positions on passed balls and wild pitches.

Washington C.H. sent nine batters to the plate in the top of the second, scoring four runs.

Brown singled and Waters and Dallmayer walked to load the bases.

Tackage walked, forcing in Brown.

Kettles singled, scoring Waters and Dillon Hyer hit a double, scoring Tackage and Dallmayer.

Washington C.H. turned a double play in the bottom of the second inning.

There was a walk and a single and a strikeout.

The fourth batter of the inning hit the ball to second base for the 4-6-2 double play with the force at second and the tag of the runner trying to score.

In the top of the third, Howard reached on an error and with one out, Waters hit a double.

Dallmayer doubled scoring Brown and Waters.

Tackage walked and Tate Landrum singled to load the bases.

Cole Little singled, scoring Dallmayer.

Tanner Lemaster was hit by a pitch that forced Tackage in to make it 20-1.

Southworth grounded out to make it 21-1.

Washington C.H. is now 2-0 in the tournament. They opened the tournament Tuesday with a 17-2 win over Englewood in four innings.

In that game, Cole Little pitched 3.2 innings for the win.

Kylan Howard pitched one-third of an inning.
