Lady Panther soccer pummels McClain, 8-2

GREENFIELD — The Miami Trace girls soccer visited McClain High School Thursday and came away with an 8-2 victory.

It was the first win of the season for Miami Trace.

Lauren Truex scored the first goal within the first two minutes of the game.

Miami Trace built upon that lead with a goal from Tori Morrison and another from Morgan Eggleton off a direct kick.

Miami Trace held a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Truex converted her second goal of the night with an assist from Becca Ratliff.

Eggleton had another two goals giving her a hat trick for the night.

Hannah Reisinger and Cassidy Tolliver also scored for the Lady Panthers to make the final score 8-2.

Taylor Barrett had four saves in goal for Miami Trace.

“Our girls played extremely hard tonight and controlled the majority of the game,” Miami Trace head coach Caitlin Francis said. “It was definitely a team win for us with multiple girls scoring and making the supporting plays on the field.”

Miami Trace (1-4 overall, 1-2 in the SCOL) is at Carlisle today and home against Hillsboro Tuesday at 7 p.m.
