The Washington Blue Lion boys basketball team traveled to Springfield Shawnee High School Tuesday to take on the Braves in the penultimate game of the 2016-17 regular season.
Shawnee won the game, 45-24.
Senior Kory Proby led the Blue Lions with 11 points.
“We played solid defense for most of the night,” Washington head coach Shannon Bartruff said. “We just continue to have spells where we get good shots and they aren’t going in.
“We just have to keep getting better, each and every day,” Bartruff said. “We cannot let making or missing shots effect our effort.”
The Blue Lions made 11 of 36 field goal attempts for 31 percent. Washington had 19 turnovers, 8 offensive rebounds, 11 defensive rebounds and 8 steals.
Washington (now 7-14 overall, 5-8 in the SCOL) will host Miami Trace Friday with the j-v game starting at 6 p.m.
