Late last month, Burns was named the recipient of the 52nd-annual Christman Award. Burns is joined by her parents, Richard and Shawna Burns, and Candis Conley, representing St. Catherine’s Manor/Court House Manor. The Christman Award has been presented annually since 1969. It exemplifies excellence in academics, athletics and leadership. Burns was chosen for the award from a field of 30 nominees from Washington High School, Miami Trace High School and Fayette Christian School.
