FAYETTE COUNTY — A two-vehicle, head-on collision Thursday morning in front of Walmart Distribution Center resulted in a serious injury.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on State Route 753 when it traveled left-of-center and struck a semi tractor trailer that was traveling southbound, according to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

The Jeep then went off the right side of the road, and the semi went off of its right side of the road where both vehicles came to rest. The driver of the Jeep was flown by medical helicopter to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries.

OSHP Lt. Jeff Madden commented on the situation.

“The one thing we are unsure of as of right now is if the driver of the Jeep was in the process of passing another vehicle or not, all we know for sure is that the Jeep traveled left-of-center.”

The names of the individuals involved in the accident have not been released at this time.
