Washington volleyball opens with loss at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — Two former South Central Ohio League rivals went at it at Fred Summers Court, opening the 2023 high school volleyball season Saturday, Aug. 19.

Wilmington defeated Washington, 25-14, 26-24, 25-21.

Statistically for Washington, Natalie Truex led with six kills; Jarika Mick had three kills.

Truex led the team with three ace serves; Jordan Mead had two aces.

Aysha Haney was tops on the team with seven assists; Addison Knisley had five.

Maggi Wall had 17 digs to lead Washington; Jarika Mick had 10.

Washington’s j-v team lost, 17-25, 13-25.

The Washington seventh grade team defeated Wilmington in three sets, 9-25, 25-16, 25-20.

The eighth grade team lost to Wilmington, 18-25, 12-25.

Washington is at Zane Trace Thursday at 6 p.m.
