WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — The Abatement of Public Nuisance Committee met in regular session on Wednesday in the Washington Court House City Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m.

There were seven properties added to the 2024 Fayette County Land Bank Grant list for being delinquent in property taxes. The addresses were: 525 Delaware, 410 Delaware, 233 Henkle, 1022 Rawling, 516 Lewis, 901 Sycamore, 707 Broadway streets, and 314 Fountain Ave.

There are currently 19 vacant lot properties in the process of title foreclosure. Once a clear title can be obtained, these properties can be sold.

In homes under repair, 128 W. Elm St. has a new contractor and work will be completed. At 418 S. Fayette St., repairs are ongoing. Repairs were started at 608 E. Paint St., and the owner of 622 S. North St. was given until July 1, 2024 to repair or sell the property. The repairs are almost complete at 132 E. Paint St., and 432 Forest St. repairs are finished.

Building inspector Rod Bryant said that he had inquiries about 147 E. Court St., however, after learning the bad condition the property is in, no one seems interested in purchasing it.
