Cavaliers, Ironmen in hunt for FAC boys golf title

HILLSBORO — Frontier Athletic Conference boys golf match number four was held on Monday, Aug. 19 at the Hillsboro Elks Golf Club. Going into the match, the Ironmen led the league with a record of 15-0 in FAC matches.

Chillicothe won the match on Monday with a 162, improving their record to 17-3, Jackson finished second with a 169 to move them to 19-1, Hillsboro came in third with a 177 to make their record 9-11, McClain was fourth with a 181 which moved them to 3-17, Washington finished fifth with a 191 and are now 6-14 and Miami Trace placed sixth to take their record to 6-14.

Individually for Chillicothe, Aidan Fischer led and was the match medalist with a 35, followed by Vincent Haller with a 40, Jackson Oyer with a 41, Kooper Elliot with a 46, JB Maravilla with a 58 and Jackson McNeal with a 59.

For Jackson, Noah Ernst led with a 40, followed by Tristan Tipton with a 41, Parker Holsteion with a 43, Easton McGraw with a 45, and Rylan Wyant and Garison Marcum each with a 46.

For Hillsboro, Conner Kelch led with a 41, followed by Jack Cornele with a 43, Tate Davis with a 45, Logan Barton with a 48, Logan Zurface with a 50 and Walker Pence with a 51.

For McClain, Zane Adams led with a 40, followed by Carson Chandler with a 45, Carter Nelson with a 46, Jeremy Webb with a 50, and Leland Ewry and Connor Chandler each with a 53.

For Washington, Will Miller led with a 46, followed by Shane Crago with a 47, Logan Krape with a 48, Cooper Robertson with a 50, Logan Clevenger with a 52 and Bryson Heath with a 53.

For Miami Trace, Carter Davidson led with a 46, followed by Cole Whiteside with a 47, Gage Bowers with a 49, Gavin Cottrill with a 51, Cade Whitaker with a 52 and Tanner Eggleton with a 60.

The next FAC golf match is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. at Buckeye Hills Country Club.
