Teays Valley tennis beats Washington, 5-0

On a very breezy Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, the Washington Lady Lion tennis team welcomed the team from Teays Valley High School, now coached by former Washington High School softball coach, Rick Foose.

Teays Valley won the match, five courts to none.

At first singles, Presley Hamilton defeated Cambry Brown, 6-3, 6-4.

At second singles, Abby Baker beat Jillian Frederick, 6-4, 6-1.

At third singles, it was Zoey Proctor over Kate Bailey, 6-3, 6-2.

On the No. 1 doubles court, Julia Kramer and Grace Murlin defeated Adysun Bartruff and Gretchen Reed, 6-2, 6-1.

At second doubles, Shelby Spires and Lexie Young beat Sam Dallmayer and Kendelle Woods, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2.

In a j-v doubles match, Teays Valley’s Lily Miller and Avery Hines beat Rilee Langley and Mary Denen, 8-0.

Washington plays at Circleville Wednesday, Aug. 21 and at Chillicothe Thursday, Aug. 22.
