Blue Lion golf wins match with Panthers, Vikings

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, Washington and Miami Trace welcomed Vinton County to The Greens Golf Course of Fayette County for a tri-match in boys golf.

In an extremely close competition, the Blue Lions won the match with a score of 177, followed by the Vikings with a 178 and the Panthers with a 184.

Leading the way for Washington was senior Will Miller with a 39, followed by senior Logan Clevenger with a 40, junior Mason Conger with a 48, junior Bryson Heath with a 50, senior Shane Crago with a 51 and junior Cooper Robertson with a 54. Miller was also the match medalist.

For the Vikings, senior Hayden Reynolds led with a 41, followed by junior Nash Yates with a 44, senior Cobra Sharp with a 46, seniors Brayden West and Silas Allen each with a 47 and junior Donovan Holcomb with a 50.

For the Panthers, junior Cade Whitaker led with a 43, followed by freshman Gage Bowers with a 44, freshman Carter Davidson with a 47, sophomore Gavin Cottrill and junior Cole Whiteside each with a 50 and senior Gavin Baughn with a 55.

The Blue Lions are back in action this evening as they travel to Chillicothe.

The Panthers will play again on Thursday at home along with Washington as they host Grandview Heights.
