Milestone celebration scheduled for Sept. 17

The Washington High School volleyball program will be celebrating two major milestones on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Washington will host Miami Trace that evening and will be recognizing the 50th anniversary of Blue Lion volleyball and also the 25th anniversary of the program’s Regional Championship.

Doug Mace, the head coach of the Miami Trace team, was the coach for Washington when the program won several District championships and won a Regional title, qualifying for the State tournament in 1999.

The Blue Lions are inviting all original members of the 1974 squad that paved the way, as well as the winningest team in Blue Lion volleyball history from 1999, to celebrate their golden and silver anniversaries. These remarkable alumnae will be recognized in a special pregame ceremony before the varsity match.

All Blue Lion volleyball alumni are invited to join the celebration as we mark half a century of excellence and cheer on the Blue Lions in this rivalry matchup!
